CZ decocking from SA when trigger is pulled?
« on: June 29, 2016, 07:44:02 PM »
I'm rebuilding/replacing parts is a semi compact surplus gun and have installed a comp hammer, new springs, CGW and disco and now the gun periodically will deco I from SA when the trigger is pulled. Who has ran across this and what is the remedy?  I've worked with a bunch of CZ's and have never encountered this issue. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean when the trigger is pulled in single action the hammer falls to the half cock notch? If so you need to remove the disco and remove the sharp corner on the lower front of the wing on the disco. Remove the sharp corner and make a small radius.
This will allow the hammer to clear the sear and let the hammer fall fully forward when you pull the trigger in single action.

Nice, i did not have this one. Thank you for the pic SPO1SHADOW. Here is a repost of one of the pictures linked above.

I believe that SPO1SHADOW may be on the right track. I do not see this issue pop up too often but i think it is called "drop to disco issue"? Not 100% on the terminology. For clarity, during the SA hammer drop, the disconnector connected to the hammer is crashing into the trigger bar. The contact of the two parts impeding the hammers full SA travel.

I've had to fit the wings of the disco's before but that is usually because they engage to long and when you do a DA pull they will actually engage the SA notch which wasn't the issue. I tore the gun apart and tried a new sear to eliminate a worn sear. The sear was fine and then went on the the trigger bar springs which I replaced. The new spring seemed to be smaller than the one I took out so I replaced that again and reassembled. Problem solved. Gun is now all tuned up and ready to go.  Thanks for the help though!

Just guessing but I think I had unequal upward pressure on the trigger bar that was throwing the timing off.  It was random in how it would decock in that sometimes it was functioning correctly and then all of a sudden it wouldn't and then back to normal.
