Found good load with HP-38
« on: August 07, 2016, 11:14:50 AM »
Think I have found a good load, for IDPA and practice.

* Good recoil but still easy to keep track of front sight.
* Nice consistent ejection of cases.
* Cases not sooty.  Gun stayed pretty clean.

Yes, that pretty much mirrors my HP38/W231 loads.

I have been using that powder for a long time as it allows me to buy one big jug of powder and load for my three most shot calibers. 9mm, .38 Spl and .45 ACP.

I still shoot a lot of the Bayou 200 SWC in .45 but have gone more to plated and JHP in 9mm for no particular reason. Bayou makes good bullets.
