cz75D compact vs cz75p01, question about the grip
« on: July 01, 2016, 08:18:12 PM »
I am looking into buying one or the other. I found a cz75D compact today. The only reason I did not buy it was the way it fit my hand. The bottom plate of the magazine cut into my pinky finger about in the middle.

Does anyone know if I would have the same problem with a cz75p01.
Thanks in advanced

I am assuming the magazine had the metal base plate?   Greg Cote llc and others sell rubber magazine base plates which I would think would correct the problem with either of those compact .

Rubber base pad from CZ or the less expensive plastic ones (in the mag well) from the Beretta store for the Beretta 92 also work.

As Psyop said, you can very easily swap base pads to rubber or plastic.  Most of mine wear rubbers, it's always better to be safe than sorry.... ;).  The mags I use for carry currently have the metal plates, but have a radius added to them similar to what you see in the pic above.  All you need is a hammer and something round like a socket and you can easily fix the metal pad.

The grip on the SP01 is also longer than the compact models, so your pinky would probably sit on the grip's frontstrap instead of any part of the magazine.

^^^^ Kydude is asking about the P01 not the SP01.

The P01 is a compact model as is the PCR.  Both are the same grip length.  The P01 comes with rubber basepads while the PCR comes with metal basepads. They're all interchangeable, and the rubber base pads cost about $9 each

I have a PCR and its my absolute favorite pistol.  Hell I like it more than my SP01

Oops!  I think I must have read the "5" before the "p" an "S" :P
