Gun forums are bad for my wallet
« on: July 22, 2016, 12:00:08 PM »
I think it was Cynanide that posted pictures of his Grand Power pistols about a year ago, now I have 4 of them with the fifth one on the way. My disease is spreading I could not help myself so I ended up with another small carry pistol the Bersa  380CC and well who could resist the new EAA Tanfoglio 1911 in polymer frame. In my current Grand Power collection I have the P1 Ultra, the Xcaliber, the P11 and now a P380 blowback system which I must comment on the recoil is very mild for a blowback operation and it is also a decocker, very nice extra going out to dinner handgun. I can't wait for the arrival of my P45, after it comes in I will post a nice group photo of the new toys. Last I just had to get another Cz so I got the Scorpian carbine with the faux suppressor. My wallet need some time to recover.

Seriously.

I was thinking I wasn't going to buy another gun for a long time since I don't have space for a large safe, and I'm just a college student, but I already want to get a Kadet kit and a Shadow 2.

I know exactly what you mean! I exercised so much discipline the last 6 months of last year. Then I sent my DW Heritage to DW to get some custom work done in February. While I was waiting I somehow managed to buy or trade into a DW Model 15-2 revolver, a Sig P229 Legion (which I ended up trading for a DW ECO), an Browning Hi-Power Standard (which I traded for a Sig M11-A1)... Sigh... I don't know what got into me but my collection is almost completely different. In the midst of all that, my DW Heritage came back home, all spruced up!

Sent from my Note 5; please forgive spell check...

I did kind go off the deep end on buying, so to round out the flock I just bought two more a pap Ak pistol and if I win my bid online in a couple of days I will own a 22 TCM 9R pistol. I will just have to claim insanity to the wife cause there is now way to hide this many firearms.  I have not bought in volume like this ever before.

Brian,

I must admit you're right. I have on order with CGW a CZ 97bd getting the "e" conversion and several other goodies. Also looking at the new CZ P-01 omega. After these two I should be done. My collection of handguns is quite diverse...CZ, Glock, Canik, SA 1911, RIA 1911, & FNX 45. Going out today to go look at and possibly purchase a Sig p320 9mm subcompact or compact for my wife.

Gun pictures themselves can be bad!

Last year Springfield Armory was running a contest where they showed two guns and you voted on the one you liked best with a chance to win it. Probably 10 different choices in all.

One day I could not quit looking at one of the pistols. I kept going back and looking at the picture and finally I gave in and hunted it down on the internet and ordered it.

It was a good choice and I do love it but did not need all that temptation.

How are they holding up? any issues? I've only read really glowing reviews on all there guns.  I'm picking up a used MK7 this Friday (for the price  I had to jump on it) and a NIB GP 45 Monday. And most likely a MK12 soon afterwards

I have got over 1K on the Xcaliber already .  My P1 ultra has over 2000 rounds thru it . The P11 on my hip gets shot every time I am at the range , about 750 through it. The 380 has 4 boxes through it in the last two weeks. I am winning an auction on another gun right now and it seems that payback is a bitch I just lost a $600 electric motor on my dual shop compressor. I have been running 14 hour days  for a week and ahalf now in 95 to 100 degree temps and that compressor has been running a ot to handle all the media blasting and refinishing.  Sooner or later everything breaks down. I am going to put anew motor on and have the seized one rebuilt for a spare. Time to put the brakes on my gun buying.
