CZ Kadet 75?
« on: March 03, 2002, 09:14:17 AM »
I am thinking about getting a Kadet 75. Not the kit really, but the actual factory gun. I really dont have experience with CZ handguns and was wondering what type of reliability, trigger pull, ease of cleaning and those sort of things can be found on a Kadet. And any other information would be appreciated.
            Thanks,
            Adam

I own a factory Kadet pistol,it fits my hand like it belonged there, its has an excellent accuracy (a friend told me that he was hitting winchester 500 round ammo boxes at about 100yds with his factory Kadet...I dont know how the boxes were disposed, but a friend that was with him, confirmed), the trigger pull, i think its the same as the full CZ75, which is not the smoothest, but its still good...Cleaning it is easier than brush the teeth ;) ... well, not that easy, but close...
Mine had the stovepipe problem (not too much), but i've corrected it with Mapdude's fix, and now it never jams. Because of its weight, it has little recoil, and the bullets can be machinegunned to the target with good accuracy...U can shoot as fast as your finger can pull the trigger... and it can do it really fast. Have fun. I've not regretted the money i've spent on my Kadet!

Adam,

Why not buy the 75B military 9mm and the 22 Kadet adapter then you'll have the best of both worlds.  The adapter stays on my 85 Combat more than the 9mm slide.  Mine also had the stovepipe problem but with mapdudes fix it's 100% reliable.  Once you buy the Kadet you'll have to have more,  CZ's are awful addictive.  My last four purchases have been CZ's I don't even think about any other brand.  What ever you do tou won't be sorry.

Would there be any difference between the Kadet kit and the Kadet? And does the kit work on any 75? I just want it for .22 really and highly doubt I would use it for 9mm (BTW what is the military I havent seen this model), I just want it to plink pop cans and such.
            Thanks,

Get both the 75B and the Kadet kit.  You never know when you may need to plink a large, rabid dog or thug.  Plus, you can probably recoup more of your investment, should you decide to sell, if you sell as a nine mm with .22 adapter.  More likely, one buyer would give you more for the "whole shootin' match".  But, the market for $300 plus .22s may be tough.

Ok I will look into getting the plain jane 9mm I guess. But for putting it together its just some minor filing right? I have custimized my 10/22 and filed and changed some on that so I feel pretty confident in the filing and polishing department.
Thanks for all the help guys, (Now if you could find me some money that would be great. :D  )

Fitting of the Kadet slide only takes 10 minutes or so,  all the instruction are layed out nice in the manual.  Filing of the extractor doesn't take much longer but I would see if you have any stovepipe problems before doing it.  Hope you can find the money.

My Kadet kit went on my 85 with no fitting.  It fits a little tight but goes on and off easily.  You won't be disappointed.
Just check around for used Kadet kits.  There are NONE.  No one who has one is not pleased with it.

I picked up my Kadet 10 days ago and have 505 rounds through the tube so far without one hiccup or any hint of problems whatsoever.   I'm very pleased with the gun.   Feels solid in the hand, and it is nearly as accurate as my bull barreled Ruger 22/45.  I am very pleased with the gun overall.   I elected to purchase the pistol and not just the conversion.
