A few fun pics of my week old 97
« on: August 29, 2016, 08:21:38 PM »
I set out the other day to hit the 500 round mark on the 97.  It was one week since I bought it.

It actually hit 600 rounds   8)   The 97 just shoots so easy.  It's become that the 1911's just stay in the safe.

And the pistol range.

I know  :-\. It's been a hot busy week or I'd be out every day!

I added lube every 200 rounds but still haven't cleaned it.  It's not really very dirty. I go close to 1000 rounds on my 1911 before I get the urge to clean.

The 97 is just such an easy pistol to shoot.  I usually wind up firing a box of 50 with it each time at the range.  It will go through some ammo before you know it.

I've been shooting 1911's lately so my 97B hasn't been out for a few months. Just got a new Dan Wesson Valor (black) and bought some factory 230 ball WW white box to break in the DW. While waiting for the DW to come in, I took the CZ out to use up some old reloads and took 10 of the WW factory rounds. The CZ97 has been an accurate pistol but I was amazed how well that factory WW ball ammo grouped. It put 5 shots in a tight little overlapping group of 5/8", rested at 15 yards. I also wanted to try out a shorter rear sight and some CZ rubber grips I just got. The CZ97 came with a #6 sight and was hitting high. The shorter #5 brought the POI down and the rubber grips work much better for me. I had forgotten how soft shooting this pistol is compared to a 1911. The original trigger has improved greatly with use and is now very smooth. What a great pistol the CZ97 is!

With little time to shoot, since I have this 3 year old-6 days a week business, I've only put a few hundred through her. It is quite the shooting machine they build over yonder. One inch groupings at 25 yards so far but when time allows, I'll be putting in Cajun's Pro Package to smooth things up along with some Flitz and Dremel work on all common surfaces. I've got another Clinger holster coming that they came out with which has the leather backing. I'll add some of my own leather to the first one I ordered and some leather on the Clinger for my P-01. I love my Baer Super-Tac and Harrison Springer, but when one can buy 4 CZ's for the price of a Baer, go figure that one out!!! If Einstein had been a gunslinger, I don't think he would have put much thought into that scenario. Love these CZ's.

Haha  good one!   I figure you'd have all kinds of dead cow hide things wrapped around the CZ97.

Some of my Baers are out of a job!!   ;)
