Scorpion Lower Interchangeability
« on: October 26, 2016, 03:46:58 PM »
Can you take the lower on a Scorpion and interchange it with the receiver of another Scorpion? The reason I am asking is because I have a Carbine and Pistol (waiting on tax stamp).  I am looking at sending the Pistol's lower into CZ Custom to get their trigger pack installed.  Once I get it back I will send in the Carbine's lower to get done.   While I wait I would like to use the Pistol's lower with the better trigger in my Carbine for USPSA PCC competitions.  I am not word about the legal aspect since the upper is the serialized firearm.   I am concerned about any technical reason this might be a bad idea.

Theres a couple threads about this already I think. Boils down to if they are both "world" scorpions or not. If they are, then the lowers will interchange.

By world do you mean they both have the trigger pack screw welded?  I bought the pistol in June 2016 and carbine this month.

The lowers are all the same.  We have swapped around the ones in the house guns quite a bit.

The only difference with the pistol vs. carbine is the hadguard/barrel length and that a stock or a pistol sling block is slid on the upper rear receiver.

One thing to be aware of is that the carbine lower is 922r compliant and the pistol is not without the 922r kit.  This means if you put the pistol lower on the carbine, the carbine is no longer 922r compliant.  I had the same question and called CZ who confirmed this twice.  Just FYI.

Is it the bolts that don't interchange between them then?

The bolts interchange.

They are the exact same guns save for any 922r parts, barrel, forend, and stock.
