Shooting and Carrying P-01 with light attached
« on: October 29, 2016, 10:40:23 AM »
Curious as to how many of you shoot and carry your P-01 with a light attached?

I have Kydex type holsters for mine both ways but find carrying w/o a light allows for a little better concealment.

Do you find that your pistol gets back on target better with a light attached or worse? Some have said the dynamics of the pistol are changed while other claim adding a light helps to get back on target faster when multiple rounds are fired in quick succession.

Presently I attached a TLR-1 to mine at night, but remove for carry.

I carry a pocket light when carrying. Harder to shoot straight, but easier to use during the day. I don't really bother with a weapon mounted light, but if I did I would use an XC1 or the next version of it when it comes out later in two to five years.
snakeye, no worries, I don't need someone in a leotard. :)

I'm guessing that most do not carry a weapon mounted light on their P-01. The later versions of lights are getting smaller and would be more in proportion.

Regarding rapid shooting I can't really see a positive or negative with a light mounted. This probably speaks well to the very ergonomic design. YMMV

My P01 has a light on it, a TLR3.  I only have the one holster for it.  An IWB kydex holster from the Cleveland Kydex Co.

I've tried carrying it.  It's uncomfortable.  That's a holster issue and body shape issue (my spare tire).

The light also makes it harder to pull from the holster.  I've not found it harder to put the pistol in the holster, but it does not pull out of the holster as smoothly as it does without the light on it, or as smoothly as other guns in other holsters without a light.

Shooting it is a non-issue.  I don't even know the light is on it.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I have an Inforce APL for both my P-01 and P-09. When I carry my P-01 the light comes off for the most part. However, my P-09 is always in tact with the light.
