Noob question
« on: November 06, 2016, 01:58:57 PM »
So I let my friend see my p01 and he released the slide release and let the slide slam forward on an empty chamber..... (this was done with an empty magazine in the pistol) would this damage the pistol or mess anything up?? (Maybe the magazine?)

1 more question. If anyone can help. When I took the pistol apart,  I noticed paint coming off the frame where the slide release goes into (the square hole). Is this normal? Thinking maybe it's just a wear point or maybe I'm hitting it while taking the slide release off or when putting it back in???

Not really normal, but it could be explainable......depending on how you remove and install the slide release, that's about the only thing that could cause that area to wear.  There are some "pens" that can be bought to touch up the bare metal........can usually find them in a sore or gun shop that sells a good variety or firearm bluing and/or cleaning supplies. The coating these pens provide are fairly durable for their intended purpose.

Don't really care about the missing color. But will it rust? I know it's aluminum alloy...... or will something bad happen to it if left alone? Or is it purely just cosmetic? I'm guessing it was either already there from when I bought it or i did it while taking the slide release off or on

You should add a drop of oil to the slide stop shaft when re-installing it but at any rate it won't corrode. Many alloy guns are finished in a natural state anyway.
