Now the waiting begins......
« on: August 12, 2016, 06:21:34 PM »
So, just left the FedEx after dropping off my P01 Omega for shipment to CGW. Asked Dave to polish the internals, install his P01 Omega action kit, crown the barrel, install some of his G10 grips & install a fiber optic front sight.

Am sure the 8 or so weeks will go by fast........ ;)

Will post a report after it returns.

I have been thinking about getting the internals polished and the Omega action kit installed too but I don't know, that wait is just so long. I will be looking forward to reading what you think when you get it back.

I am generally hesitant to send my guns off to someone I don't know, but David's reputation here and elsewhere is superb, so I think I have little to worry about.

I also have a P09 that I've been shooting in IDPA matches, so no CZ withdrawal for me while the P01 is getting its treatment :-)

Got the call from David yesterday, the gun is enroute & should be here tomorrow. Am very impressed w/ his customer service thus far. His description of the work done & trigger pull weights has me on pins and needles w/ anticipation for its arrival. Will report my findings when it arrives & when I shoot it on Fri

Theyre customer service is top notch so far. I had a question, Ive been working with scott, got an email shortly to call and discuss. Called, he answered the phone and we went over the email. I called them few days before, reached voice mail but it said there was a second line and number. I called again, got voicemail, wrote down the number, called the second number and got scott. While on the phone with scott, im assuming david was calling me back on the other line. Thats amazing customer service.

My PO1 came in today, am very impressed w/ the SA and DA. The FO front sight is as David said. Very happy I went the FO route. Will be going to the range tomorrow & trying it with some Speer Lawman and blazer brass 124 gr rounds.

So far, am impressed and happy I got the P01 omega & had David work his magic on it.

Report on the range results tomorrow

As promised, here is a quick report on my abbreviated range time with my cajunized P01 Omega. Fist round in the X double action, others off to the 8 o'clock but all with in an inch or less.  All double action hit the X, and the single action off just a bit, but tight groups. Similar to my Sig P220.

Tells me the gun is dead on, I just need to improve my trigger pull. Perhaps some steel shooting should help me.[pdf][/pdf]

Am super pleased with the results. The FO mated with the factory rear works for me.

So would I do it again? Yes, with no hesitation at all.
