Question on Shooter's Element Trigger.
« on: November 11, 2016, 03:09:46 AM »
Anyone who has one of these for the evo, how much further forward is this vs the stock plastic trigger shoe? I've been debating the Shooters Element or HBI delta "yes I mean the delta" but have yet to decide on which to go with. I'm kinda leaning the S.E way but have been unable to find out anywhere how much further forward it is while the HBI on the other hand says 5mm forward "about 3/16".

I thought I'd just stick with the factory shoe but my fingers are too bleep long lol, and when I move the grip back far enough to make the trigger reach more comfortable everything else just feels off plus having a big gap around the grip looks like crap :-\

There is a photo of my Shooters Eement trigger in this thread:

Not sure how much more forward it is than the stock trigger but maybe you can tell from the photos.

I like the clean look of the trigger.
Shoots good for me and as an added bonus they drilled out my trigger case screw for me for a few bucks.

heard back from S.E, he said it's almost 1/4 forward. I like the look of it as well, but also like the HBI delta... now If I could just make up my dang mind and pick one lol

I don't think you will be disappointed with either trigger.

If you do order from HBI, however seriously consider the short AK safety levers when ordering, absolutely love those.

yeah I was looking at those, I pm'd you a few questions on the ak style switches. I currently am rocking Parker mountain machine and while they eliminated the painful digging into trigger finger problem, having only a small ball/knob on them and using the side of your thumb or trigger finger to flip on or off hurts ... it's fine if you break your grip and use them which is pretty inconvenient but if you want to keep hand on the grip and use the side of your thumb or finger as intended it's painful.

I had one.  It moves your finger forward about 1/4" but it also changes the angle.  It left like I was pulling the trigger down toward the trigger guard instead of straight back.  This was in conjunction with a Switchback grip.  I just switched to an HBI Delta.  Pull feels closer to stock with a 5mm longer trigger reach.

You must have small hands, then?  For those of us with larger hands the SE trigger is a godsend.

I can see your point though.  My trigger finger does drop about 1/8" as I pull the trigger.

I wear size L Mechanix gloves.  With the SE trigger, the further down you place your finger the longer the reach especially at the flare.  Near the top it's about the same.  With the HBI Delta it's consistent.  I could just slide the grip back but I hate that unsightly gap.
