Silent Thunder Fusion IWB Holster
« on: December 16, 2016, 09:33:42 AM »
I am considering the Silent Thunder Fusion for my 75D Compact.  Are any of you currently using, or have you previously used, this holster?  I would like to hear your thoughts.  I am concerned with comfort, a tuckable holster, and one that allows for deep concealment.

Thanks.

I must confess I'm unfamiliar with that brand.  I use Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.0 now.  Their customer service is fantastic, and I like the free swappable shells.  I've taken advantage of that a few times, but since shells are only $12 I've purchased shells for all the sidearms I carry, and just swap them out from home depending on what I"m wearing that day.

I have several Garrett OWB holsters as do several of my shooting friends and they are just great.

I have no doubt their IWB holster would be just as good if you can wear an IWB holster.

I don't know if you have experience with any IWB but they are a little bit different and a lot depends on your build. Wide shoulders and a narrow, thin waist and usually IWB is not a problem. If your waist is the biggest part of your body it normally does not work well.
I mostly carry OWB under an untucked shirt but I sometimes do carry IWB. It conceals better but is not as comfortable to me and requires larger size pants.

My son has one for his full size 1911. It's a very nice holster.

Oldfrank, thanks for the advice; I, too, prefer OWB, but an untucked shirt isn't always feasible at work.  Hence, my need for a good IWB that is tuckable and makes the pistol "disappear" when being worn.

I looked at Aliengear, but it doesn't appear they have a holster specifically for the 75D Compact when I used their on-line chat.

I've also heard good things about Crossbreed Holsters.

Have you looked at Tucker Gun Leather? I just this past month purchased an IWB from them and they beat their delivery estimate by 10 days. The holster fits both my PCR and my P01, except like some holster makers they made it off a Compact with a safety blank. This is not the first time I have run into this. But, it does fit and functions just fine. OH, before I forget it's a Cover-up Plus with lock.

I carried my P320 compact in a Silent Thunder Fusion for a few months. Loved the holster didn't  care for the gun much though. He makes great holsters though, it's my go too for holsters now. I have his Silent Thunder GT's for my Kahr PM9 and PPS M2.

I do think you're moving in the right direction with STF holster. The P-01 is probably a little too heavy for a single clip holster and spreading the weight out over two holster clips is the way to go with a heavier gun. Once I put my 75D compact through its paces I'm going to move forward with a STF as well.

I upgraded my holster clips on mine with Ulticlips but it was a love hate relationship with those things depending on what I was wearing pants wise. Holster clips are probably a personal preference thing but I prefered the slim clips for my application.

You can't really go wrong with his holsters, the quality speaks for itself.

I have an Aliengear 3.0 I wear every day with my P-01.
You can select your gun during the order process. It is in the list.

Well, I'll throw another maker into the mix. I recently purchased and am wearing a IWB holster made be MDJ Custom Holsters(www.mdjstore.com). There a many styles available and the separate replaceable custom molded shell feature is also available. I do believe they carry a deep concealment model. I have taken to carrying SOB (small of back) and this is the only holster maker that I have found to make an adjustable retention, custom molded swappable shell holster to fit this requirement. They are very reasonably priced as well.
