P09 Frame bulge
« on: December 26, 2016, 07:08:13 PM »
Just picked up a P09 earlier today and put 100 rounds through it. Later when I took it down for cleaning I noticed a small gap between the slide rail and frame on both sides of the frame, and I can push the plastic frame in to touch the metal. Is this normal for a P09? I thought the frame bulge issue had been resolved.

That is perfectly normal and is not the same issue at all. The P-07 Duty had the frame bulge and that has long been resolved. You are going to be able to effect some movement of the plastic in certain spots on any plastic framed gun.

I'd like to see a picture if the bulge. My po9 has the same problem.  I just want to make sure it's not the same as the p07. Thanks

Also noticed my hammer is tilted slightly to the left. Is this normal?

I've only been on here for a little, the wobbly hammer seems to be a touchy topic. Some say it is not normal. My P09 and every P09 or P07 I picked up or see online looks like it hangs over to the left.

You can kinda tell in the pic below. Even touchier, my hammer has a lot of wobble, which some here say isn't normal, and some had experiences where CZ CS say its totally normal.

IDK, but I have a lot of rounds through my gun and no issues so I don't sweat it.

My P09 is a 2016 I believe. I have about 7-8 range trips on it and somewhere between 1200-1300 rounds. This is what it looks like:

There is a little gap between the middle rails and frame. I'd guess thats about normal, didn't really pay attention to it when I got the gun.

Well earlier today when I went to get the P09 out of the safe, I dropped it and it hit a steel rail at the bottom of the safe. It hit the area between the rear sight and ejection port. Is there any chance anything was damaged? I noticed if I push down on the slide right behind the barrel it has up/down play and moves slightly to the rear. Is this normal?

I doubt that it is hurt, other than maybe a scratch on the finish. I've seen plenty of guns suffer worse treatment than that with no problems. Most guns have some play like you describe.
