Compare P-07 and 75-BD Trigger Reach
« on: December 24, 2016, 07:16:55 AM »
I currently own a CZ 75-BD and love it. The only gripe I have is that the trigger reach in DA is a bit long and I don't feel that I have the pad of my finger in the proper place. SA is fine and comfortable.
I feel like adding to my collection and am liking the P-07. Does anyone have both and can comment on the difference between the trigger reach in DA between the two? I realize backstraps will make a difference.

I have already switched to Vz grips, which have made a difference.  Also aware of the CGW reach reduction kit, which at some point I'll probably turn to.  I am hoping that a P-07 out of the box is a bit shorter, or at least feels shorter.

Thanks in advance.

Wj73, I only have the P-07 Duty (non-adjustable grip/backstrap), and wear small size gloves. Hopefully this will help you some, if only a little.

I have owned both before and I do think the classic CZ 75 series pistols have a longer DA reach than the polymer P-series do.  I don't remember noticing it on my P-07 or P-09, but did notice right away on the 75 BD that I later bought.  I had the BD "POLICE" model, which had the serrated trigger (which was really uncomfortable for me to shoot).  I liked the smooth triggers on the polymer pistols better (which still use steel triggers).  You will not be disappointed with the P-07.

I own the gen 2 P-07 and several variants of the 75 series. For me the DA reach of the P-07 with the newer style trigger is shorter but With time and practice I have learned to overcome the long reach of the 75's.

I had the opposite problem.   My fingers are long so the reach on both the 75B and the P series is too short out of the box.  I think you will like the shorter reach to the P-09/07.  Here is a video I made a few months ago explaining why I made the changes to the P series guns that I made.  Just the opposite of what you need.  Maybe this will help you decide what to do.

Quite a different problem but that video was really helpful actually.  Thanks!

I think the reach of the 07 is a little closer than the 75 series.  I noticed a difference with my short fingers.

The CGW reach reduction kit is worth the investment to me.  I also keep my decocker guns at half cock when shooting or carrying.  That also helps with the reach.

I can pretty easily operate the DA pull of the P07 with size 8 small hands.

On my 85b the DA pull is a pretty good stretch. I am looking at some aluminum grips and the CGW RRK soon.
