Looking for some load recommendations
« on: January 02, 2017, 01:48:32 PM »
Getting my 550b set up to reload for my 9mm CZ's and LCR.

I have some 115 PD and 124 Xtreme's and 8 lbs of 231.

Anyone shoot either of these combinations?  Load recommendations?

Loading for PCR, P-01, Phantom and Scorpion, will the same load work in all of these?  Same load for LCR?

Load recommendations are always the same: check a couple of manuals and start at the start load (I start at the lowest start load).
I have never gotten decent accuracy from any plated bullets and haven't gotten great accuracy with any powder in 9x19 faster than AA5.
For 115gn bullets, you might like 4.2gn or 4.9gn of 231/HP38, but start at around 4.0gn. Even then, accurate for these loads is only 2" at 25 yards at best.
Other than accuracy, what do you want?
If you want accuracy, look for Power Pistol, Silhouette, or True Blue.

I don't shoot competition or anything similar, just general plinking and paper aeration here on the farm.

Forgot to add that I am also loading for my Scorpion.  For some reason, it eats more than the others.... ;)

? See this thread Right Here to get help with load information

? Please take the time to completely describe your bullets. PD makes multiple 115gr bullets.

? Then do the Push Test on both bullets in all of your barrels. The barrel that results in the shortest Max OAL is going to be the Max OAL for all your guns since you intend to share ammo. This may well be a different gun for each of the bullets. That's OK.

? You may well wish to break this into 2 separate threads; one for each bullet.

No more replies until you do the necessary ground work.

 ;)
