455 Trainer too big for ten-year-old?
« on: January 14, 2017, 10:40:15 AM »
My oldest son will be ten soon, and if he begins to show more ability to concentrate and focus, I'd like to get him started shooting. I've been eyeing the 455 Trainer as something I would like to have, but is the butt stock too long for a ten-year-old (who is actually big for his age, so think maybe an average twelve-year-old)?

Thanks.

There is now a 455 Scout go that route and switch stocks as he out grows it.The interchange with 455's is a drop in.A 16" barrel Scout in a trainer stock would be a nice shooter.

Perhaps go the other route -- get a trainer that I could use, and then a scout stock for him? If I understand the specs correctly, there is a 1.75ish inch difference in the "trigger pull length," which I assume means from end of stock to face of trigger (and of course, barrel length). Would a Scout stock support a trainer barrel?

It would, but the balance might be off.
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.
