Length of firing pin CGW 54420 Ultra-Lite Kit?
« on: January 15, 2017, 10:09:54 PM »
I thought that I changed out the original firing pin for the one in this package but I am still getting 1/10 not firing til the second or third pull.  Without having to take my P-01 apart I was pondering if anyone had the length of either the original or the extended one that comes with the kit.  From there I should be able to deduct what one I am holding in my hand.

I just read somewhere on a thread they shorten with use.
Have no specifics. Not sure if it is true.

What main spring did you install? David mentioned the length once on the phone but I can't recall. If you call him in the morning he'll take care of you.

Yeah I know. I swear I read it while surfing. Again sounded suspect.

The black one.   I should try the blue one I am just making sure the correct firing pin is installed first without taking the upper apart.

The black spring is the 12 lb spring. It will work with softer primers depending on your pistol. I've not been able to get my CZ's to run 100% with the 12 lb springs. I'd put the 13 lb spring in.

PS my DA pull with that 12 lb spring was 6 lbs flat. I was pretty bummed my primers were to hard to be reliable.

I can't get to spare parts till my 4 Mnth old wakes up. I'll go measure the OEM pin for ya when she does. Schmeky commented on here, but you can give him a call if you want to snag that length faster.

Utah,

The OEM firing pin should be in the ballpark of 2.440 inch, the CGW firing pin should be about 2.489 inch.

And confirmed here along with some CGW lengths:

You're a champ Toby! Been recording disassembly and tutorial videos all morning  and forgot to get those measurements first, but you covered me, thanks!

That it.  Thank you sir.  The one that is out of my pistol is right at 2.440  I just switched out the hammer spring so hopefully next trim will work better.  Thank you all.
