Repairs to new 512 WMR
« on: January 28, 2017, 12:07:31 PM »
I had a friend that lives in Maryland just purchase a new 512 22 WMR. He received it 5 days ago. Shot it today for the first time. This is what the email said.

No easy way to say it  --  bad luck with my rifle.  I fired it once, it worked perfectly.  I fired again and it worked perfectly.  On the third shot, I didn?t notice that it didn?t eject correctly and it fired with the bolt partly open.  A piece of the spent casing must have torn off.  I?m not sure exactly what caused it.  I tore the rifle down, inspected it thoroughly, I couldn?t find anything wrong except the extractor does seem to be stiff.  I worked it by hand and worked oil around it, then blew it out with compressed air.  Put the rifle back together and now I?m not trusting CZ?s good craftsmanship.

I fired the first round, and it didn?t eject again.  The casing is turned completely sideways with the bolt smashing it.  It will have to go back for repairs.

In the meantime, I have a little trouble hearing out of my right ear.

1/28 PM changed to 10 round mag same problem, would not eject bolt smashing it

Now my question does it have to go back to CZ for repairers. I have been down the CZ warranty department road, it took six weeks for them to determine that the gun was defective. Then they did not have one in stock and it took eight months to get one.
