Hammer stuck back on 75 Shadow SA
« on: February 11, 2017, 11:38:47 AM »
Sound familiar to anyone?   Just had the slide cut for adjustable sights and a different hammer installed and this was the first time out with it. Happened after about 2 mags and only 5-8 thru gun since new. I will contact the guys that did the work on Monday but wondered if anyone here might have the answer.

Stuck back--- Like a dead trigger, hammer won't fall? Or physically stuck, like a bind?

It wiggles - trigger does too. I'm wondering if over-travel or pre-travel screw backed out of trigger - sound like a cause?

Be sure the gun is empty. Hold the trigger back and try to move the hammer forward and see if it is bound up or if something has dropped out of place.
Either way you are right to take it back to whom ever worked on it..

Yes, if the over-travle set (located in the face of the trigger)  moved this could cause the maximum rearward trigger travel to be limited to a point that the sear would not raise up high enough to drop the hammer in single action. I do not know that this is in fact your issue but it is possible.

Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

It not the over travel screw as I could back it out. I think it's an 85 combat trigger and has pre travel too. Wondering if trigger didn't "reset" and that's tied into it.  no difference with slide on or off either

Update - that was it. I was barely able to move pre-travel screw and then heard a click - it was fine. I installed that trigger so own fault. either gun broke in a bit more and caused it or lack of Loctite.   thanks all.

I don't use overtravel screws for just this reason. I have 85C triggers in most of my CZs, but I either never install the screw or removed the ones I had installed after this happened to me once.
