US Machine Gun left folding stock adapter woes
« on: March 26, 2017, 08:38:56 AM »
I just purchased and received a left folding adapter from US Machine Gun and sweet mother oh gawd, what the hell is up with the horrific amount of pressure needed to fold and unfold the stock?!?!?!?!?!

This by far is not my first folding stock gun, never have I had to physically brace part of the weapon against a solid object just to push the locking tabs out of their slot to move a stock from with position before.. I'm sure I'm not the only one, what's the fix?

Or should I just replace it with the Lage/ACE assembly and call it a day? I'm serious disappointed at this point, especially given the price and STUPID chromed spring from hell.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

How about calling the company and asking them if it's supposed to be that way, and if it's not, requesting a repair, a replacement or a refund?

This boys and girls is superb customer service.. yeah I know I'm the dumbass here, but here's Michael's Sunday morning response. Gotta love it

---------------------------------------

You have to push down on the corner not the blade.  It doesn't take strength but you have to push down on the corner of the folder. If you do not release the tension properly you will drag the locking notch over the locking tooth. Sold thousands with few issues. Everyone who has trouble figuring it out figures out where the pressure should be placed and they no longer need help.  You want a folder that is tight versus one that is sloppy. I put my thumb knuckle around the adapter and I pull down on the corner with the spring and can almost fold it with one hand. Call me tomorrow if you cannot still figure it out.

I'd nominally agree that there are no stupid questions, but you've obviously not met or talked to my customers lol

sometimes the pins on these types of folders are sticky, spray some clp or wd40 in there. I had an ace side folder mech that once sprayed had rusty looking juice come out of it factory new...
