Tulammo primers question
« on: February 25, 2017, 02:20:21 PM »
Does anyone here have experience with using any of the Tulammo primers?
Specifically in small pistol size....I picked up 3k of them, and they are giving me nothing but feeding problems with my RCBS turret press' primer system,  the vibrating tube filler, and just being a pain to use.

What say you?

This is the first I've heard of physical size issues, but the Russian quality control has long been a concern.

1.  I've used them, a few thousand, every one went bang in the 9MM and .40 S&W rounds I loaded with them.

2.  There is something different about them.  They fit into the primer pocket just fine.  The issue I've had with them is they will not turn over (bottom down) in the Lee hand priming tools I use.  If they turn upside down when dropping them out fo the box you can shake the tray all you want and they will not turn over.  Put some CCIs or Federals in the primer tray and shake it and those turn over (you might have to turn over one of them if it's in a congested area of the tray with primers all around it).  It's like there's something different about the top edges of the primer cup.

I just boght 2,000 Tula small rifle primers today.  $21 per thousand.  If they'd had more I'd have bought more.

I don't have a progressive press.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I figured they would ignite, but the loading process is where I am having the problems  with them.

This is what I wanted to find out, if I just happened to be the only one to have problems....
