CZ 452 , 17 ammo tested at 100 meters.

Hi,

I will try my best to describe this little review.

When I saw the post of Bushpilot here, I decided to buy a CZ 452 http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=32042.0
I like to shoot with iron sight only (low weight, more accurate because you don't zoom and see your moves ect)

Quote
Simo "Simuna" H?yh? 17 December 1905 ? 1 April 2002, nicknamed "White Death"  by the Red Army[citation needed], was a Finnish marksman. Using a Finnish-produced M/28-30 rifle (a variant of the Mosin?Nagant rifle) and the Suomi KP/-31 submachine gun, he is reported as having killed 505 men during the 1939?40 Winter War, the highest recorded number of confirmed sniper kills in any major war.
H?yh? used an M/28-30 with serial number 60974, because it suited his small frame of only 1.60 m (5 ft 3 in). The rifle is a shorter, Finnish White Guard militia variant of the Mosin?Nagant rifle, known as "Pystykorva" (literally "The Spitz", due to the front sight's resemblance to the head of a spitz-type dog) chambered in the Finnish Mosin?Nagant cartridge 7.62?53R. He preferred iron sights over telescopic sights as to present a smaller target for the enemy (a sniper must raise his head higher when using a telescopic sight), to increase accuracy (a telescopic sight's glass can fog up easily in cold weather), and to aid in concealment (sunlight glare in telescopic sight lenses can reveal a sniper's position)

Iron sight of the CZ 452
Movable rear sight . To shoot at 100 m, I set it at ? 125 ?.

The front sight is movable with a M3 screw, you can set the front sight at any position. For 100 meters my front sight is at 0.3mm from end of barrel.

I bought a Weaver K6 6x38 mm at  http://www.dandrsports.com.

The mounts are Warne 7.3/.22 Series acier 722LM.
I'm very happy with this system which allow me quick detach of the scope, whithout losing the zero of the scope.

I tested several ammo with the CZ 452

Sorry price in eur... but 1$=1 euro nearly ..

Shooting is at 100 m, and I measure the spread of the impact in centimeters. The aim of the topic is to find the best economic ammo.

Test 1 :
CCI blazer, CCI stinger, Winchester T22

WINT22 and blazer OK. CCI stinger too costly and cluster of impact not as good as other.

Test 2 :
Winchester Lazer, 22 long Z, Subsonic 42 max  et CCI quiet 22

CCI quiet 22 is horrible, the spread is about 1mx1m at 100 meters. Win Lazer..not convinced. Win subsonic ok. Win long Z : catastrophic, and difficult to reload in the CZ.

Test 3 :
RWS Match S, Club, Target et Subsonic.

High quality packaging, very good shooting (reloading is easy, the easiest from all the ammo tested), cluster are very good.

Test 4 :
Fiocchi TT soft, Sellier Bellot, Federal champion, Geco semi auto, Magtech subsonic.

Magtech, Geco et Federal champion : very difficult to reload (i have to force on the yoke/lever, federal is the most easier of them). Fiochhi is too costly for it's performance versus RWS.

Test 3 and 4 are similar, so a last test:

Test 5
CCI standard, RWS Target, RWS Club, RWS Match S, Geco semi auto, Magtech, Federal champion.

RWS gave the best result, moderate price and very easy to load in the CZ. Plus the packaging is not cheap.

Summary

Sorry in french, arg i'm exposed !

This 500 rounds test gave me to look more about the quality of RWS for my CZ452. Of course, make your own test, each ammo vary with gun and barrel. Thanks for reading.
