Springfield Armory just dropped a brand new single stack DA/SA compact with combo safety/decocker.

Interestingly, it weighs exactly the same and has the same mag capacity as a late model 3913...

Looks like they are trying to fill the void left by the end of S&W 3rd gen production.

I had just heard about this earlier today.

What an interesting year 2017 has been so far... CZ introduces what I have hoped Glock would do, then Springfield announces what I'd hoped CZ or Sig would do.

Well, I was about to consider buying a SW 908 off of GB, which, if there are no other bids, would run me about $480, shipped, CC and FFL fees. Then Springfield dropped exactly what I was looking for with the XDE, but then crapped all over it by selling out:
