Powderless 22lr ammo in CZ452 military training rifle
« on: May 04, 2017, 04:19:13 PM »

Zeroed a new 452 with a Burris/Banner model 4736 scope at 75 ft balls on.
3/4 in groups after 25 shots and adjustment with stand. velocity ammo and 40 gr lead bullet.

Then:
Switched to Powder-less/22lr at 25 ft.
Impacts were 1.5 in low and 1" to the right.

Is that to be expected?
I can understand low, but to the right?

Would that be due to twist? hold/grip/trigger?  Coriolis force?????

Any ideas?

Who's ammo is it? Also any particular reason to use that ammo?

That ammo is not recommended by CZ.CZ bores are a little tighter and that also isn't in your favor. The velocity is around 375 fps.You stand a good chance of having a squib.look out for a used bolt 22lr somewhere and buy it for peanuts and don't chance of a squib in a cz.The primer only rounds also put a great amount of fine glass (gsr) in your barrel as there is no powder to help burn it off.Just sayin, but it is your gun and your rules.   :)  Someone else will chime in here.

Just curious. Where do you live where you have an iguana problem?

you may want to try a subsonic round like a cci quiet--theyre not as quiet as what you're shooting but are much quieter then supersonic rounds. I use them for squirrel hunting/dont scare the squirrels as bad.

If I were you, I would not shoot that ammo out of your 24" barrel.

Have you ever heard of airguns? Not Red Ryder BB gun, but adult pellet airguns? More power than Colibri or similar rimfire, accurate and quiet.
