Buying California guns outside of California

This may seem odd or silly but is there a disadvantage or an advantage to buying California approved guns if you live in a more free state? I understand that the gun will come with only 10 round magazines but to my understanding it will still accept higher capacity magazines as long as they are legal in the state I live in. Is that not true? I also understand that lower capacity mags matter less on say a Rami than they would on P 09 that comes with much higher capacities than just 10. So other than the magazines that comes with it from the dealer is there any other disadvantages? or is it still illegal to have the gun with higher capacity magazines in every state since that is how it was designated from the manufacturer?

The NIB CZ83 that I bought came with TWO (2) CA mags.

Price-wise it might have been a little cheaper, but whatever I might have saved went into the full-capacity mags that I bought.

I bought a CA-compliant Rami a few weeks ago because it was the only Rami I could find on the internet where the seller would ship. I live in Oklahoma so I'm not bound to 10-round mags. I was going to buy extra mags anyway, so I bought a couple of 14-rounders to go with the 10-rounders that came with the gun. As it turns out I prefer the 10-round mags with Pierce extensions to the longer mags.

It's legal to have a CA-compliant gun in a non-restricted state.

I've never lived in a Socialist republic like California. I don't know the legality of owning a gun not on their approved gun roster that was purchased outside of the state.

I live in Michigan so I don't have those restrictions either. I also never knew how the law might pertain to such guns that were sold as being compliant to a communist state like CA or MA. It just seems that I been seeing more guns that are California legal than I used to and was curious about it. I also would not like breaking any laws if it was illegal to marry a gun with the wrong magazine like with AK's or other assault rifles

For CZ's the only downside of a CA gun would be the magazines. For other makes and models you may come across things like Loaded Chamber Indicators (LCI) that stick out of the top of the slide. Not very popular here but required on "newer" models. Many guns here take a price hit on the used market because of the LCI

My first CZ I was searching for was a CZ 75 Compact SKU: 91190, could not find one online or anywhere locally at the time. I came across a place online with a CZ 75 Compact ? 9mm (low capacity), 01190. I emailed CZ USA and this was their response;

The guns themselves are identical, and are only SKU'ed differently because of the different magazine capacities that are specified as shipping with each model. You're good to go!

Picked up the CZ from my FFL, ordered some 14 round CZ 75 Compact magazines and have had no problems using them. The 01190 was slightly more expensive but I just had to have a steel frame and it was available at the time. It has been a great pistol.
