If both bullets enter and do not expand, the .45 is making a 60% bigger hole as it travels through. Square the radius of each, and you will see what I mean. Modern 9mm is effective, much more than it was 30 years ago, but a 230gr HST will flat ruin your day.

It's all academic anyway. Outside of something in 44 magnum ranges, pistol rounds are poor fight stoppers no matter what you pick. The old joke about pistols being used to fight back to the rifle you never should have laid down have a certain amount of truth to them...

Ultimately They're all a compromise so all you can do is pick the one that's the best compromise for your needs. 45 has slightly more effectiveness all other things being equal but has less capacity for a given size and weight.

WWII proved the effectiveness of the sub machine gun in several conflicts, and over the years it was a valued tool...until the rifle became just as compact and light as the sub gun. An M3 Grease Gun was miles more compact than an M1 Garand, or even a carbine, but a BREN pistol is about the same size as the Scorpion pistol.

Speaking of 10mm. These guys are local and doing 45, 9mm and 10mm in a gas piston rotating bolt package. Also turns out I've been working with their primary designer for the last couple years and didn't know it.

Nova have you shot one of these? Btw, awesome work on those 3 lug wrenches. They are a piece of art.

For me, I'm interested in these 45s. I want a caliber that is, easily, suppressed. The question I have is what suppressor? Would the Osprey 45 work on a 10 inch barrel? What about the rifle?

Haven't shot one yet. Now that I know one of the guys involved I want to and that 10mm is totally calling my name.

Thanks for the praise on the 3 lugs. Lotta people seem to like them.

Always thought the Para pistols were interesting. I remember them being pretty sizeable though. I probably would have bought one back when if I wasn't a flat broke college student at the time.
