I installed a race hammer along with a bunch of other work on my p07 and it was a game changer for that trigger. The only thing I had to do was change out the spring in the sear for a slightly heavier one. Easy breezy.

I have been resisting playing with my Steel CZ compact which has a pretty nice trigger from the factory but am seriously considering some springs and a race hammer since it was so very awesome in my p07. Is it as simple a drop in installation as it was on my p07 or is there a great deal more work and expense to installing one on the Compact?

You'll need to fit the sear, or your can buy an adjustable sear. Outside of that it's just replacing parts. Polishing will make a big difference on the double action feel, so I would recommend doing that while you're in there.

In a CZ75 variant safety model, when you change out to a comp style hammer due to its different geometry you can loose safety function. The safety function can be regained one of two ways. Installing an adjustable sear or hand fitting the safety leg of the orignal sear and or the corresponding safety pad located on the safety lever shaft.

I usually go for the adjustable sear. It is quicker and allows for future adjustment.

Definitely also buy an adjustable sear.  It's a wonderful high grade part that makes installation of the hammer etc much easier.   I also suggest picking up a short reset disconnector too while you're doing mods.
