CGW SP-01 Hammer Falling Issue
« on: May 29, 2017, 04:06:03 AM »
Hello, new to the forum and new to the CZ world. I have an SP-01 that I installed a CGW Race Hammer with adjustable sear, a CGW flat SAO trigger, and new music wire trigger spring from CGW. Everything seems to work wonderfully on it (no catching of the hammer when trigger is depressed and moving hammer up and down), reset it good, and pre-travel is minimal. When dry firing there are zero issues however with the slide in the back position and the slide release pressed, allowing the slide to close, the hammer drops to half cock position. This only happens when I use the slide release, and not when I just rack the slide with no magazine to engage the slide stop. I have noticed if I "hold" the trigger forward with my index behind it and release the slide the hammer will stay fully cocked. This leads me to believe there may be some type of trigger bounce happening from the inertia of the slide. How would one go correcting this issue?

It should be noted that all of these tests were done with an empty chamber.

Thanks!

Try adding a little pre-travel to the trigger. Hammer follow in usually from not enough sear engagement on the hammer. If you have taken up the pre-travel to the point it limits engagement this could be the problem. If adding PT does solve the problem then a call to CGW's would be in order for possible parts swapping or maybe even sending it in. Stacking tolerances can be a beoutch.
