Please excuse my ignorance but I'm new to this and running a Czechmate in open USPSA.
I've run about 2000 rds of misc. factory minor loads of 5 or 6 different brands through the czechmate over the last two weeks. Zero issues. The czechmate ran flawlessly in open configuration (comp etc) with minor loads.
I have now run about 800 rds of major and I am having failures to ignite. Probably one out of 50 shots. They do not appear to be light strikes to me but my experience is limited. The strikes are centered and they look fairly deep to me.....The gun has been throated to 117 and the rounds seem to seat perfectly. Once fired brass major autocomp loads with winchester rifle primers. These same rounds are running fine in multiple Sti's. I know the rifle primers are harder and I know the Sti's in question do have extended firing pins. I switch back to minor factory after having the issues and zero malfunctions with the factory soft primers. Its already screwed me up in a USPSA event though Im pretty slow as is.....
I have called CZ custom to order an extended firing pin. To make it more confusing and adding an unknown variable the guy at CZ custom tells me the Czechmate already has an extended firing pin and that I don't need one? I have some misc. CZ parts from a different gun (not a czechmate) including multiple 75 firing pins and they are identical to the firing pin in the czechmate.
It causes me to doubt the information he gave me on the firing pin length or any other advice or information he might give me as well.
Has anyone had these ignition issues running major rounds with hard primers?? and if so please let me know what you figured out.....Hammer Spring?? Firing Pin return spring??? Extended striker???
