Covert Carrier??
« on: September 15, 2006, 11:53:32 PM »
Howdy!

Has anyone tried the "Covert Carrier"?  I saw it advertised and an article about it in the newest issue of Concealed Carry Magazine.

It looks pretty cool and I went to their web site Covert Carrier and am kinda impressed.

I could see this maybe on a CZ82/83 or maybe a CZ50/70.  Anyone have any thoughts?

I could see it with a P3AT or a similarly small and light weapon, but not with a CZ-83 or CZ-82.

In fact, the P3AT has a factory attachment that does the same thing and might be even more practical.  I'm sure its less expensive.  I think it holds the gun more securely and is less likely to let it move around.

Those CZs are BIG guns, and they're heavy, and much more likely to move around, being held by just one suspension point.(They're not much smaller than a CZ-75 Compact!)  For a gun as small as the ones shown, I  prefer pocket carry in a pocket holster.  But this approach is a practical option.

You  might, just maybe, use this method with a CZ-50, but that's not really an optimal concealed carry weapon: you'd get a lot more bang for your buck with a Makarov which is roughly the same size, and a lot more potent.  The CZ-50 is large and heavy and anemic.

I used to shoot with a man that carried his kel-tec with the screwed on clip right behind his belt buckle.  I couldn't help but think it would really suck to have a negligent discharge, but is was small and concealable even with a tucked in shirt.  It didn't seem uncomfortable, either.
