A video for clone lovers

A video for some Canik love.  MAC reviews and seems to be surprised by the quality of clones.

Good for him, he sounded like he enjoyed the pistols.

I am surprised that he didn't/ hasn't known about CZ clones previously, or just how he reacted.to them.  I know there is a lot of brand name snobbery in the gun world, and I am happy to see MAC not fall into that trap with clones.

l didn't pick up on any aspect of surprise.  He came across as fair-minded IMO.  If anything, he seemed to be promoting the idea that he might be selling these pistols in the future.

l like his videos, although he could have a little more technical info like height, weight etc.

Tim doesn't now CZs very well.  The RAMI is designed off of the CZ 40B - the barrel lockup is SIG-like vice the 75 series.  The C100 is a alloy framed clone of the CZ Compact - close also to the PCR, but the WHOLE gun is thicker in the frame, not just the top of the frame.

I am also surprised Tim has not yet learned how to PROPERLY decock a DA/SA manual safety hammer gun.  Using the so called idiotic "pinch method" is wrong. [In another video Tom says you HAVE to use the pinch method - an even dumber statement]. Drop the hammer on the support thumb and roll it out, and it decocks to half-cock - the PROPER position to carry the weapon in, and a KEY feature of the 75 series which shortens the DA pull.

BTW - I don't hate Tim - he makes darn good videos and is generally well informed. However I just don't like the errors - especially about decocking.

Good point about the decocking.  He rides the trigger forward, presumably to prevent the hammer stopping at half cock.  The problem with that is, it allows the firing pin to go forward should the hammer slip.  lf you release the trigger as soon as the sear is tripped, and the hammer slips, the trigger will go forward and the firing pin block will prevent a discharge.  None of this replaces good gun handling, like not point the thing at something you aren't willing to destroy, but it does give you one more layer of protection.

Good point.  Release the trigger and it is safe.

He also talks about trying to put in an omega trigger into the Canick.  You can't even put Omega triggers into regular CZ 75 pistols.
