I finally received my P10C yesterday.  My pistol was ordered via CZ's MIL/LE program.  The order was accepted on Jan 23,2017 and was shipped on June 3, 2017.  Here my initial impressions.

*  Passes the plunk test with Hornady Critical Duty 135 gr +P and Underwood Ammo's 147 gr XTP +P.  My CZ P07, P09, and SP 01 doesn't.

What's the "plunk test," if you don't mind me asking?

My older/vintage pre B CZ75s have no problem with the heavier loads touch the rifling.  My SP01, P07 and P09 have.

This will explain the plunk test:

Thank you.

For what it's worth, the slide release on my P10C was almost impossible to close -- even with two hands -- at first. It was almost as if somebody had applied lock-tite. But, it has since loosened up quite a bit to where I can thumb close it like most other pistols, though still a bit tight.* Planning on taking mine out for a second shooting sometime this weekend.

Approximately how many rounds would you say it took before you were able to activate the slide release with your thumb?

200 live rounds plus 50 unchambered closings using the release, and a lot of oil charitably applied around the release.

OK, that's not bad at all.

My P-10c was absolutely dry inside the day I got it. (Good thing we still had the FDE version for the demo that day) When I got home, I gave it a little bit of cleaning and a lot of CLP before the next day's range session. ~ 200 rounds through it so far (split 3 boxes of ammo between two pistols yesterday, so the exact split isn't known)

Mine was also "dry out of the box", but it did have what I will call "factory residue" (a/k/a sticky gunk) on the block and in certain other areas, which was taken off by a thorough scrubbing with a toothbrush and cleaner. Then it got the judicious oiling, all before first shooting. Which of course is really no more of less than one should do with any firearm, IMHO (and arguably just common sense).

I guess I am the anomaly then - I oil lightly every firearm, because oil out here in the desert is a dust magnet. I cleaned, wiped down and lightly oiled all bearing surfaces plus a few drops into operating "systems". Perhaps I should re-oil heavier before next range trip. :)

My P-10C was lubed fine from the factory.  I made sure there wasn't anything in the barrel or chamber and shot it as it came out of the box.  And then kept shooting it for 500 rounds, I think.
Come to think of it, I cleaned the barrel on the Kadet last night in preparation for a little bullseye practice this morning.  Not the frame parts.

#3 Front sight also.
My older eyes love the CGW front fiber optic on my P-01 and P-07.  Will change the front on my P-10 too!
Anybody know which front FO fits the P-10?

I am leaning toward  a FO front as well. I started a thread about P10C sights and one gentleman posted his with CZ Custom sights. A P07 FO front with a Shadow rear. He did observe that the Dawsons on his Glocks are brighter and clearer than the CZ's. I am a little confused as to what sights and whose sights are compatible with the P10C. Some say P07 and P09 front sights are the same some say no. Between CGW, CZ Custom and Dawson Precision they are all different. I would just want a FO front that is compatible with the stock rear.

Im waiting on Dawson to make a dedicated sight set for the P10C.  Fiber optic front with a serrated black rear would be grand.

I actually like the stock sights, but I wish it was made of steel.

Whats up fellas.  I emailed Truglo and Trijicon on Friday about new p10c product info.  Nothing back yet but I will advise when I hear.  Also emailed clinger holster and Detroit holster company.  Both replied, they should have holsters out within 3 weeks.

I live in the desert too so I know what you mean. However, when a pistol is new, I'll go heavy with the oil at first, stick it into a sleeve immediately, and not take it out until I get to the range. After the first 500 or so rounds, I go back to normal (light) oil. It's probably unnecessary, but just something that I've gotten into the habit of doing.

The only pistol that I've ever owned where excess oil would cause a problem was my Kimber Solo, but honestly there was about 17 other things that would cause it to malfunction too (including "squeeze trigger"). It's about the right size for throwing at a perp though.

Just got an email back from Trijicon.  This is what they said.

***Thank you for your interest in Trijicon? products. Currently, we do not offer any support specific to the later CZ pistols and would refer you to one of our OEM customer  https://czcustom.com/  for likely solutions. We will note your inquiry for possible future development as there have been others. Please contact us if we can assist in another capacity.

Sincerely

I read your linked posting about rounds hanging up on the feed ramp when your pistol "auto forwards".  When you slam a mag into the mag well with enough force to jar the slide stop/release out of the slide notch, many semi auto pistols will auto forward.

When you slam the mag home without a fully loaded magazine you can cause the weight of the rounds to compress the magazine spring some.  This compression and movement upsets the positioning of the top round in the magazine and is causing the HP rounds to catch on the bottom of the feed ramp.  FMJ ammo can do it also but the flat faced HP bullet profile is more likely to get stuck.  You probably don't see this with a fully loaded mag as the spring in the magazine does not have the extra room to give like a partially loaded mag does.

We saw this a work last year when we switched from a P2000 to a P320.  We changed our pistol quality course for a 17 round magazine.  We kept the old night fire course with only 12 rounds loaded in the 17 round mag.  In the stress of a timed emergency reload we see people slam mags in all the time releasing the slide.  With the downloaded mag we see multiple failures to feed that we can't duplicate with a fully loaded magazine.

A long explanation for something fairly common.  David
