Shadow2 I'm pulling high and left.
« on: July 09, 2017, 06:16:54 PM »
I'm a right hand shooter and i'm pulling shots high and left with this S2, i adjusted sights and it's still pulling there. My buddy has a standard 75 with hogue finger groove grips, I drop the shots center no problems.

Is it the grips? Do i need a thicker grip? Do i just need to thicken the left grip, the right?
This is bothering the !@## out of me.

Curious if CZ will be offering these grips in different thicknesses, i really do like the look of the gun as is but function is priority. I may have to change my grip for the gun and thats not ideal IMO.

Is it the gun or the shooter?

Shoot off a bench using a wrist  rest with very careful trigger pulls.  Put you targets at 20-25 yards with one small target on a backboard.  Use the same point of aim no matter where  you see your shots hit.  Shoot at least 5 RDS,  D
Doing this twice is best.   You have to not think about hits,  just sight pic and trigger pull.
This mostly tests the gun if your pulls are smooth.

If the gun shoots better doing this then your grip/grips or other is the problem.  If it shoots the same as free hand,  then sights are off.

Shadow2, do you have really big hands?  As 1Sow said, I would start with seated bench resting at a table with sand bags, a rest, etc.  Arms fully extended, 2-hand grip in a natural seated position then shoot at a distance of 15-20' to establish POA/POI.  You start at a short distance to establish your sights.  Take a full breath, let half of it out then hold it and concentrate on a slow even-pressure trigger press.  Take the shot within 10 seconds or start over.  Have someone else repeat the same drill with your gun and see if your POIs are similar.  Typically your shots will break high left if you are applying more pressure with the heel of your palm to the grip.

Buy some LOK palm swell grips. I have large hands and find the thin S2 grips uncomfortable since I can't get a proper grip with my support hand. They offer them in any texture. I had jayson (the owner) make me the blue checkered palm swell grips. Much better.

try shooting strong handed only, go slow, really slow.

See where that hits.

From there, see what happens as you go two handed.

I wear a medium/large sized mechanics glove, if they made a size in the middle of the 2 my hand would fit perfectly. I do get some gap in my palm when gripping the gun it's worse on the left hand.

I Benched it while load testing as soon as i got it and it was shooting left, adjusted sights still shoots left. But to be honest i can't bench a pistol i always shoot better off hand.

I Had my buddy shoot it, he has the same results. so how we both can be center with his gun and mine shoots left we can't figure out. A few more range sessions to try to hash it out and then it may be a call to CZC.

This site needs an image upload feature i'd like to add a shot of how far right my site is. Site is a bit behind the times with the photo bucket links.

Use imgur.

Image hosting is far better than using a forum attachment so that everyone can see it.

Try putting something in your palm like a gauze pad or play dough/clay on the right grip.  See if the gun feels better dry firing.
