I wouldn't be surprised if that ammo doesn't hit the slide lock nubbin as the round is pushed to the feed ramp.  You might feel it or see the round pushed to the right slightly as it leaves the magazine.  Feeding may not feel very smooth.  The more conical the bullet, the less likely it is to hit the nubbin before it enters the barrel ramp.

Shot the new polymer bullets today.  They both fed fine...didn't feel anything different.  However, they smelled very bad when fired.  They really stunk.  Especially, the Inceptor ones.  Made me wonder what the melting temperature of the bullets is.  If I could smell them it meant there had to be some melting.  Also, made me wonder what kind of residue they might be leaving in the barrel.  Have to do some research on that.

At 10 yards, they shot just fine.  The Ruger ARX's shot the best group (minus my flyer) at close and longer range.  The Inceptors seemed to wander more at 25 yards.

Overall, none of the lower weight bullets gave me results that I couldn't already get with the 230g.  Plus, they were more expensive than the S&B's I use.  One thing that does interest me is the different bullet shapes for the Honey Badgers and ARX's.  There may be something to these different profiles that can outperform a traditional conical and JHP bullets.  If I was a dedicated target shooter I would spend much more time with these two bullets.  They did demonstrate that I could shoot tighter groups using them.

Some new .45 ammo just arrived that had to be shipped.  Heading to the range tomorrow to try it out at 25 yds.

I have shot some of the Wilson Combat in .45 acp. Good stuff. To expensive to shoot regularly. Recoil was mild and the groups were tight.

My winner in today's bullet test (and against all the other bullets I've tried recently) was the Wilson LSWC.  The Wilson LSWC just seemed to be the easiest shooting bullet I've ever tried in a 97B.  It was smooth and I was able to shoot my best groups at 25 yds using it.  I will buy some more of these to shoot.  However, I'm just going to practice more 25 yd shooting with the S&B's first so I can get more consistent with it.  Then I'll try and fine tune my shots using some more of the Wilson LSWC's.

Finally had my very first failure to feeds today using the Federal SWC's.  There were 3 jams out of the nearly 40 rounds I shot.  Looks like the shorter nose of this bullet somehow gets hung up on the feed ramp.  A slight push on the side of the slide went ahead and seated them and they then fired fine.

Thank you!  1,321 rounds through her in the 25 days since arrival.  Yes, she's a keeper.  But my older 97B is jealous that I'm spending more time with the new Cajun girl.   8)
