Shot the new polymer bullets today. They both fed fine...didn't feel anything different. However, they smelled very bad when fired. They really stunk. Especially, the Inceptor ones. Made me wonder what the melting temperature of the bullets is. If I could smell them it meant there had to be some melting. Also, made me wonder what kind of residue they might be leaving in the barrel. Have to do some research on that.
At 10 yards, they shot just fine. The Ruger ARX's shot the best group (minus my flyer) at close and longer range. The Inceptors seemed to wander more at 25 yards.
Overall, none of the lower weight bullets gave me results that I couldn't already get with the 230g. Plus, they were more expensive than the S&B's I use. One thing that does interest me is the different bullet shapes for the Honey Badgers and ARX's. There may be something to these different profiles that can outperform a traditional conical and JHP bullets. If I was a dedicated target shooter I would spend much more time with these two bullets. They did demonstrate that I could shoot tighter groups using them.
