I've seen some (first models and maybe all/most of them made for the first couple years) that had the longer threaded barrel and the taller suppressor usable sights on them.

Then the urban gray model came out and it had the longer threaded barrel and taller suppressor sights.

Then, a few months ago, I started seeing the "what???" version at the gun shows.  It has the longer threaded barrel - but standard height sights.  Not sure what it's for unless they figure some people will replace the taller factory sights with aftermarket sights anyway???  I don't know.  I just know it looks funny with the short sights on it.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

As we all know the tall suppressor sights are tall to clear a suppressor. They are also super bright at night. I don't know why anyone would want to change them. They are great IMHO.

The last one you described with the threaded barrel and low sights is the one I have....still haven't had time to shoot it unfortunately.

I think that the longer barrel with standard sights might have originally been meant for the Canadian market, as they have a really long barrel requirement for handgun ownership. Maybe.

My SP-01 Tactical is suppressor ready.  I love the sight picture but would actually prefer the standard night sights because of their height.

I'll probably never drop the money for a suppressor even if Illinois does one day come to their collective senses so the taller sights are really not needed for my application.

I may one day put a compensator or break on it though.

I just purchased my suppressor ready P-09 yesterday at my LGS. I own a P-07 an wanted a longer sight radius/barrel for accuracy and range running at the farm range set-up.  I have no need for a suppressor so the standard sights are good to go. The suppressor model P-09 barrel is 5.2" long....  ;)Longer than my standard 1911.

I recently picked up an Urban Grey suppressor ready P-O9.  I really like it.
Good, bad, I am the guy with the gun.
