Ultra Match or not??
« on: August 18, 2017, 07:31:30 AM »
Stopped into Buds Gun Shop a few days ago. They had what they called a 455 Ultra Match. I liked it, I bought it. The clerk commented that he had never seen a metal mag with a CZ rifle. This one had one. I looked on the CZ web site and all they had were poly mags. Also no listing for an Ultra Match. Contacted CZ and they said by SN that it was one of 600 training rifles that they had imported. The inbox booklet is listed 455 Lux. Anyway, any comments, I am just curious as to why 600. The anomaly??? of a metal mag. Thanks

The Ultra is not a Trainer.  What does the box label say?

The Ultra does come with a 10 rnd metal mag but the big difference I believe is the 12 grove barrel and the old style tangent rear sight. I could be wrong just don't have the time to follow and track all the 455 models anymore.

I think the clerk may have been new. All of my 452 Americans came with a 5 round metal mag.

My rifle is an Ultra Max. After getting the bifocals focused,  : ) I could see it on the receiver. Identical to your pic. Wonder why CZ US said it was a training rifle. No matter I suppose other than is still cannot find the metal mags.

CZ USA is not CZ-UB.  CZ-UB is the manufacture and has a complete catalog of guns that are sold worldwide.. CZUS imports only what it wants or can for sale only in the USA. The 600 is what they chose to import not the production number. The Ultra stock is similar to the Trainer and may have been the cause for confusion.

To make things even more confusing some CZ gun variations can be imported and sold by a distributer that are in nobodies catalog or even been discontinued in both catalogs.
