I'm a long time Savage fan, and have a 93r17 rifle, that shoots kinda average, but has a horrible bottom plate and magazine design. So, I've upgraded to a 455 varmint evolution in 17 hmr caliber. It's gorgeous and very solidly built, no obvious design flaws. Now, the bad part... the accuracy out of the box is not good, like slightly under 2 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards from a bench. I got about 250 rounds through it, and it does't seem to hit consistently what I aim at. For comparison my old 93r17 gets between 1.3 and 1.4" groups at 100 yards with any kind of vmax ammo.
So, is there an article / post that describes the things I need to do to tune this one? Any suggestions? I personally think the trigger is pretty light, it can go lighter I guess, and since I got the evolution stock, the barrel seem pretty free...
Thanks
