You can dooo it!!!

If you don't, here is what happens...

I clean mine once per year whether they need it or not.   :) :)

This ^^^^ is contagious and I love seeing these pics from Joe. It's a reminder of how these pistols are work horses. I've been cleaning mine less and less. Let's me put more time into reloading. I clean mine every 1,000 or so rounds. These things just run and run.

I know I'm an oddball..... But I clean any weapon that's been fired - regardless of round count.

I buy Hoppe's by the 55 gallon drum. Still trying to get on their Christmas card list.

This is about what this pistol looked like when i cracked it open.

I bought it used, and it was abused.

Ran it through the Ultrasonic and voila.

All great tips on this thread!

First, I counted all the springs being there, too.
Second, it just looks like a hard puzzle to put back together.  It really is much simpler than it seems right now.
Third, do some polishing and part upgrades while you have it apart.  You will really begin to see how all the parts interact with each other while the trigger is being pulled.  You will see how to make a trigger pull shorter and much smoother.
Finaly, you will become even more proficient shooting this pistol after going through this.

Thank you, and very much agreed.  Jump in and then sink or swim i say!
