Suppressor indexing on CZ?s

I got into my first suppressor last week, Silencerco Octane 9 HD.  I have a thread 75B, P01, and Scorpion Evo as hosts for the can.  I noticed with the 75B and P01 that the suppressor indexes off the muzzle where the scorpion indexes off the shoulder.

The pistols have a shoulder to index off of but are threaded so far back and then the stress relief cut after that the suppressor will bottom out.  They seemed to align ok as I didn?t have any baffle strikes but the can tended to wanna back off and come loose.  Is this due to indexing off the muzzle? 

I have yet to shoot the scorpion with the can but I notice when I thread it on when the can seats on the shoulder it stays there with some authority and I have to work pretty hard to get it off

What I do when screwing on my suppressor to my P09 is screw it all the way until it gets tight. Then back off like a 1/4 turn. Then screw it back down hard and fast. Like ?pop? is down.

It?s hard to explain but I have heard it called the pop method so maybe google it.

I do the same thing on my Scorpion.

I believe that it should index off of the shoulder.  I suggest you call Silencerco because I believe something is wrong.  Would hate for you to damage your can.

I?ve shot it once and everything was aligned perfectly on both pistols.  Maybe I got lucky?  I know there is such a thing as muzzle indexing but I would generally think that wouldn?t be a preferred method.  Silencerco does make and ?extended thread? piston for the beretta 92 so maybe that?s what I needed because there seems to be a lot of thread on the barrels compared to the scorpion

"The Conservative" could be right. I had one can indexed incorrectly. I thought I would be ok, until I launched it 20 feet in the air. I called  Gemtec and gave them the measurements over the phone. They sent me a replacement base as it was indexed wrong.

I am going to call CZ and Silencerco this week before I go shooting this weekend.  I was looking and it looks like the muzzle nut also indexes off the muzzle rather than threading all the way back to the shoulder.  I uploaded some photos so you guys have a visual.

Heres the can on the scorpion, you can see it?s butted right up to the shoulder nice and snug like you?d expect


Muzzle of the P01 threaded exposed, there really isn?t much of a shoulder but I?ve never seen any other threaded pistol barrels other than these, 75B is identical


Muzzle nut threaded on, hard to tell but it actually comes up over the shoulder.  I did kind of a rough measurement to make sure that it was bottoming out on the muzzle end before the threads reach the shoulder and it does.  You can also tell that the muzzle is in full contact on the next picture...kinda...thanks obama, actually I guess it?s Siri?s fault.


Here is the muzzle end, it didn?t focus all to well, once again thanks for that Siri.  The inside of the muzzle nut is full contact on the muzzle face with pretty much no gap other than where carbon buildup is preventing it


And the last picture, the can threaded onto the muzzle as far as possible leaving a nice little gap between the end of the piston and the shoulder, not sure how I got this to be focused and somewhat clear but I?ll take it
