True mag capacity?
« on: December 23, 2017, 01:09:16 AM »
I bought a K2P 9mm. Put 50 rounds thru it and decided this is a keeper.

It is advertised as 17 round mag. And as 17+1 K2P 9mm. The container label says 17+1.

The mag has 3 holes marked 5, 10 and 15. I could get 15 rounds in the mag comfortably. Trying for 16 was a lot of effort and concern for damage.
I sent a nice message to the seller asking for a 17 round mag. Seller states the mag 'is' a 17 round. That they are all marked 15 and the mag should say 15+ on it. It doesn't. I have to tap and press to get 16 rounds in and the 17th half way in. The thought 'false advertising' came to mind. Apparently the seller isn't going to honor the advertisement. In my mind I received a 15+1 pistol.

Anyone else have the same with 17+1 K2P 9mm ordered and received? Can you get 17 rounds in your 15 round mag?

Got one 2 years ago so it might be different but mine was 17 rnds. If I recall it was super tight. Took it down, cleaned and lubed. Left it loaded for several weeks then ran it through a few cycles; no issues. I'm using a mag loader.

I don't have a K2P, but the B6P uses the same magazine, and I have never had a problem getting 17 in mine. I do use a Glock mag loader.

I?ve sold more than 50 K2P?s, B6P?s & B6P compacts and owned one of each at various times. The compact mags never seemed to have that issue. I can only remember one person complaining about only getting 16 rounds in them. Since they only come w/1-mag we normally up sell them a Mec-Gar or two. My advise would be to go with AZ-CZ?s suggestion and then add some Mecgars.

Yeah, you NEED more than one mag. When my daughter moved out she took the K2 and a couple of the 19 rnd MecGars. That's going to solve the problem or get you to real fire power!

The Glock mag loader is a little large for CZ mags, so I had to shim it to make it work, however this loader is available on Ebay and the magazine is the same size as a CZ's....

Give a new mag time.  Use it with less rounds and eventually it will give if its going to give.  Forcing things never is the best answer.

Two new MecGar 17 round mags arrived today. Now, these are "17" round mags.
(I don't care what they 'say', those factory mags are marked 15 and they are 15. But that's just my peeve.)

I have to tap real firmly to get them to latch in the gun. But the rounds chamber and eject with the slide like it is supposed to.

Now for some range time to see how they perform under stress.

Still looking into the mag loaders. My old hands have a little difficulty loading mags nowadays.

No problems using Mec-Gar Cz75B 17 and 19 round Magazines in my SAR K2P.
I think the original Magazines were only 15 round capacity and later production went to 17 round capacity

An Uplula Magazine Loader will make your Magazine Loading go much easier.  I have one and love it!
I went thru a few other Magazine Loaders before I settled on the Uplula.

Well, Mr. Bond. You posted this while I was gone to town. Had to stop at WallyWorld so looked to see if they had an auto mag loader. They did. Brought it home and loaded a couple mags. What a world of difference that makes. No longer need to put my fingers in traction after loading a couple mags. This will help my hands reloading at the range. I thank ya'll for the help and suggestions.

O.K.
