Anyone find a Safariland Holster with thumb retention that will take an SP-01?

I know that it's not thumb retention, but my 578 GLS profit wide standard fit. It's only retention is the lock, so I don't think it's considered level 2.

I use a 578 gls for a different pistol and like it a lot. Worth looking at.

THANK YOU! - I will.... my sig holsters have the ALS thumb release retention which I really like. I just called the factory and they did not even hesitate that that does not exist for the Tactical.  I also like that they have a belt loop mount one leg strap mount as well.....I will go check out the 578 - thanks!

Winner winner chicken dinner! Thanks!  Clearly this is not an LE holster since it is level one retention only but, it does have positive retention and for my application could even be better than the ALS system.  The even bigger bonus for me is that again, I can mount the holster in any number of ways including the leg strap version which with an all metal gun could be important.

Also for the IDPA crowd, this is not a Sherpa style retention system so this should be legal for IDPA.

For those not familiar with the retention systems from Safariland there are 3 videos I found on You Tube (anti-gun or not where else are you going to go?) that explain the retention system and/or the 578 Holster.

THANKS!

Larry

To try and save some folks some time.  The Safariland 578 is kinda sorta a generic holster (some manner of Kydex) that comes in: Sub-Compact, Compact, Standard, Long and then Wide Standard and Wide Long (with paddle and belt loop mounts). If those sizes "as is" don't lock the gun in place perfectly the holster also comes with a shim to increase the flexibility in what guns will work.  Those all appear to come in Black and Flat Dark Earth.  The added bonuses are that the Wide Standard for the Tactical also fits with no modifications my Sig SP2022 and my Sig P250 (that one being a subcompact), I haven't tried it yet but would bet good money that the P250 Compact will fit as well with no modifications.

Then if you need the drop leg style you pick a Safariland version that works and then the attachment adapter and away you go. That making all of my other Safariland holsters now adaptable to leg drop! Be advised that I found the Safariland website less than user friendly. I went to Optics Planet.

Happy holstering!

Larry
