Finally A New P-07
« on: May 04, 2018, 03:02:50 PM »
My LGS finally got some (4) P-07 9mm in stock and I chose one with a good trigger.  Actually all three I checked were good; not gritty or excessive DA stack.  I like the two extended mag adapters it came with, that surprised me.

I've got a couple of Cajun parts I want on hand which are.
Firing pin retaining pin.
Trigger return springs.
Slide stop.

I'll shoot it a while before I decide if I need anything else.  The single action breaks at 4.5lbs which is fine with me.  The only thing I'd like an improvement on right off the bat is a distinct wall at which the SA breaks.  Is there a Cajun solution (on the cheap side)?

I absolutely love my P-07. I have a 1st gen DUTY that i bought used (hard to get a compact in Canada, mine has 1/8" sticking out of the end so it's legal) it shot pretty well when I got it but I bought the CGW pro package for it along with the really nice low profile sight set they have for it (1st gen has plastic sights). I now shoot it as well as my MODDED SP01 SHADOW. It has race hammer, springs, extended firing pin and the rear sight milled into slide ( very similar to a CZC SHADOW target)

I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS ABOUT MY p-07 BUT IT JUST POINTS AND SHOOTS LIKE A DREAM!

Congrats on your new P07. They are certainly a nice pistol. I have two that I really like.

Best regards.

I agree it points and shoots great.  I'm new to AIWB and wanted the P-07 for that.  My SP-01 is a tad heavy for that and I feel more comfortable AWIB than my M&PFS9 with the thumb safety. I really like the trigger reach on the P-07 for my enormous hands and long fingers compared to the M&P. Surprisingly, I like the medium backstrap which puts my trigger finger at the first joint very comfortably.  I am SO glad mine has the lanyard loop that aids in backstrap changes!

I ordered a Spider Concealment Combo holster today for $63.  It has a claw, 3 attachment options, adjustable cant and 7-10 day free shipping. I was going to go with a JM Custom but liked the reviews and price of the Spider.

I handload Acme coated bullets and this gun passes the plunk test better than my SP-01 which means I can seat them a little longer.  All that means to me is I can shoot all the rounds I have loaded for the M&P's without keeping them separate from the SP-01 which require crazy deep seating.

So far my 10 yard groups are tight although a little low but only have 4 mags through it.

I'll be picking up a second P-07 one of these days.  My Vortex Venom is going on one of them.
I was going to put on my P-09 but I just hate to mess with that gun.  It shoots way better than I do.

I have a 75B, an SP-01 Tactical and a 75D as well but I like the P-series guns the best.
