Help with a Pic
« on: April 14, 2006, 05:33:20 AM »
I have a picture I would like to post of a member of the Secutiry Police of a foreign country and his AK.  Don't know how to get it on the board.  I have it saved to my hard drive.

First you will have to have an online Photo Hosting Service to post your pic in, such as Photobucket or w.hunt101.com, which I use.  After uploading your Pic to the online host, your Photo will have a link URL.  Right Click Copy this URL.

Then come to CZForums and either start a topic or post pic in a reply by doing the following:

1.0  In the Formatting Line (4th line down), select :ezcodes
2.0  Under the left Comment Menu, select: image
3.0  In the image dialoge box: Ctrl+V enter your photo link and make sure that http// does not appear twice.  Edit as necessary then click OK
4.0 Add commentary as desired and Click "Add Reply" and you are done.

If you use PHOTOBUCKET.COM, you can just take the URL code provided there (the third of three found under each uploaded picture, starting with [ IMG ]) and just post it directly into the message, without worrying bout EZCodes or anything else.  Much simpler.

Just copy and paste the TAG.  Periodl.  Nothing else to do.

PHOTOBUCKET is also free.

A lot less typing and hassle with EZ Codes, though, once you learn to use it!

When not using EZ Codes your html programmed typing would have to be like the example below:

Is there no way to simply upload the pic straight to the posting?

No.  The EZ-Board Forum Servers will not accomodate Photo Storage.  Besides, I think you might like to have an online Photo gallery.

Lots of forums do this,  but it adds greatly to the cost of maintaining the site -- the amount of file storage needed for operation and for backing up systems.   While its more convenient to load directly, I understand and appreciate the economics of doing it as EZboard does it.

Get yourself an PHOTOBUCKET account (its free), and you can upload pictures, famly pictures, send invitations to friends to view, etc.  Nearly all of may family pictures end up on Photobucket (for a while), as its the easiest way to distribute large blocks of photos, after family get-togethers, vacations, etc.

If you send an invitation, you can specify/limit what can be viewed, so a "visiton" only sees the photos you want them to see.  Handy.

(I have a paid membership at PHOTOBUCKET, which has UNLIMITED file storage.  Its still cheap.)
