Mounting a weapons light on a scorpion pistol
« on: March 03, 2018, 11:28:04 PM »
Mounting a weapons light on a scoprion is awkward. I?ve tried so many configurations utilizing the streamlight rail mount 2 and the TLR-H1 but was never satisfied. Tonight I think I found the solution to my problems

Light is a surefire 300c mini scout
Light mount is a Haley Strategic SBR thorntail 1
Pressure pad mount is by cloud defensive

It looks like you just solved my problem for mounting a light for home defense use. I've been looking at the SF XC1, Inforce etc. HaleyStrategic now only has the Gen 2 which might have more adjustment to it, wont block my sight or mess with my can. Thanks!!

Be advised bobwire, the thorntail SBR mount will interfere with the stock front irons if you attempt to mount All the way forward. Where I have mine positioned is as far as the thorntail will go on a stock handguard without taking off the irons

OP - Thanks for sharing. This helps me formulate a plan as well.

Question - are you a right-handed shooter such that the pressure pad is operated with the fingers of your left hand?

I am right handed. I?m activating the pressure bad with my left hand.

Here?s my TLR-1 HL on my k conversion scorpion. Light mounted on right side, pressure pad on left. I grip the magwell and use thumb to activate pressure pad.
