Bushing on CZ97B
« on: November 27, 2023, 01:24:46 PM »
The original 97B has a screw in bushing, while the CGW E package has a really tight slide fit
bushing.  Has anyone done an accuracy test on the two?  I have both, and was going to do
such a test - given I only have 20 yds to work with, it should not show a difference, IMHO.

Mine was much more accurate after having the bushing done. That said, the right load is a big factor as well.

It seems to depend on the gun. I have 2 97s with Cajun bushings and one without. All are very accurate.

That being said one of my 75 compacts had poor accuracy before I switched to a Cajun bushing and good accuracy after. We own a dozen or so 75s and that was the only one that "needed" a bushing  change. i have read other postings that indicated only do a bushing change if accuracy is poor or getting to much spread.

I bought mine with the CGW bushing and never shot it before the modification.  It's kind of like the 10x bushing on the 75B, if the factory bushing is a little sloppy, the CGW modification will fix it.  My 75B was very loose before the 10x bushing.  It is a match gun now, as is the 97B"E".  I did a Kart hand fit barrel and bushing on a 1911 and it is almost as good as my CGW 97B"E".

I've shot 3" at 100 yards and less than 6" at 200 yards with the 97B"E" and won a lot of bullseye matches with it.  No way I'll ever have one without the CGW bushing, 97 or 75.
