Well, the search is over for the perfect shotgun! I went through the following: Winchester 1200, Winchester 1300 Black Shadow, Remington 870 Express, Browning Gold Sporting Clays, Benelli Super Black Eagle, CZ-USA 712, and a Franchi Raptor.

None of them felt particularly good to me. When I shoot my CZ-75 (and Kadet for that matter), it feels like an extension of my body. The same with my T/C Benchmark and Omega, or my two flintlocks. I was never able to get that feeling with any of my shotguns, though.

Well, now the search is over. The Benelli Cordoba feels like it was made for me. It fits perfectly, is the easiest shotgun I ever had to clean, and has less recoil than a 223. I love this gun! It is made as a cross-over gun for field and range. So far I have shot it at the range, and it is awsome. I plan on taking it turkey hunting this spring as well. I shoot from a blind, so I'm not worried about the barrel legnth, or lack of camo on it.

I can't over state how much I love this thing!

Congratulations!  You have found a Shotgun that fits you and performs well in the Field!  A good 12 Guage Shotgun is one of the most versatile Firearms, in existance!

I feel that way about my old Remington 1100 and all of it's accessorie Barrels and Choke Tubes!  I have fitted it with a Bell & Carlson Synthetic Stock & Fore-end.  With a Smooth-Bore Slug Barrel and +2 Mag Tube extension it serves as my Home Defense Shotgun.  Without the +2 Mag Tube Extension and a Mag Tube Plug in place, I can hunt Deer with it.  With a Mag Tube Plug and Vent Rib Barrel in place, it shoots Trap, Skeet, or Game Birds, with the appropriate Choke Tube in place.  It may be a bit behind the times these days as it only uses 2 3/4 shells, but it still works well for me!

This shoots up to 3" shells, but I think that will do for turkey. I also like the synthetic stock (usually I like wood or laminate), as it holds up in the field. All those gadgets really round it out, as well. I was able to get a cheek piece extension that turns the regular stock (for skeet or hunting) into a monte carlo stock for trap.
