Bringing this thread back from the dead - I finally got version 2 of my muzzle device made.

This one sticks out less from the hand guard, has more overlap with the barrel (so more setback overall) and has improved fit to the threaded section of the Scorpion's muzzle.

I'm pretty stoked - this one looks even better and fits great.  I'm going to test fire it this weekend and then send it off for hard anodizing.  Cool!

No worries.  It mostly just looks cool.  All my other guns are pretty "serious".  The Scorpion is my designated "fun gun".

I don't need recoil reduction and I spend much of my shooting time indoors.  I have a linear comp on one of my SBRs, and it makes shooting much nicer.  I also like the look where guns have a linear comp that starts under the hand guard.  HBI doesn't make a slightly longer hand guard, so I made a linear comp that covers the threaded area on the barrel.   I call it a "setback" linear comp.

Also, the factory flash hider allows a lot of soot to come back and cover the hand guard when I'm shooting dirty ammo.  This will keep it a bit cleaner.

His barrel length and handguard are similar lengths, so by overlapping the barrel and setting the muzzle device into the handguard more, it achieves a nicer aesthetic.  If he just put a regular flash can on it, it would stick out the handguard pretty far and not look as cool.


William, where are you going to get it hard coat anodized?  I wouldn't mind having a source for some parts I made in the shop.
