Curious S/N I'd like some information on
« on: March 14, 2019, 06:48:59 AM »

New to CZ's and was showing this little gem off that I just picked up.  My buddy who's into CZ's said I should look into the SN as it's not common to have the circled P or the astrick on the body (none of the other SN's have that astrick).

I'm not a collector so none of this will matter too much for me, but I do like fun facts about things I own.

Thanks in advance

The P inside a circle and triangle with C over CZ are the new proof marks used since 2017 for many of the guns going to non-CIP proof countries (the US is not part of this group). Can you post a closer up photo with clearer lighting of the mark to the left of the SN on the frame?

I took my original photo and cropped part of it.

Unfortunately I don't have this gun in my possession yet.  I live in MD and am not a registered collector, so I can't pick it up just yet.

Could you comment on what the strange character at the end of the SN on the frame could mean?

Hiya lukky and thanks for your thread. Thats a nice rami you got there, congrats. I'm in arizona and wonder if you might elaborate on MD law. So having a concealed carry permit does not help you get your handgun on same day? Or is the collector paperwork another way to tax for those who prefer to ?
Interesting about your upside down letter Y on the frame, think the production year has been the only marks caught my interest. But try the search function here at the forum to. Google may turn up something. If ya want to dial the place that did the stamping, that would be the Czech proof house of the arms and ammunition, you can email them at info@cuzzs.cz  or  420 284 081 826 (firearms and ammunition dept)
                                            420 284 081 840 (deputy director)
                                        420 284 081 821 (switchboard,firearms entry)
or if ya need to fax a pix    420 284 081 837 (registry fax)
if in no hurry their site cuzzs.cz has a on line contact form you can use to send your question. Cheers. Be well.

According to a 2009 thread, the inverted "Y" means a refurbished firearm (see end of thread).    https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=21040.0https://czfirearms.us/index.php?action=post;quote=108281;topic=21040.0
