looking for the push. P-07.
« on: February 05, 2018, 08:55:51 AM »
New guy here looking to make the jump to CZ. Ive been a fan for many years and ive wanted a 75 for as long. I recently made the decision to pick up a P-07. I sold my Beretta Px4 to fund the purhase.

I'm a long range rifle guy and pistols for me are mostly for carry and self defense. I need to carry more and I feel the p-07 is a perfect candidate. Here is my dilema.

I initially thought the suppressor ready Urban Grey was what I wanted. Im picking up a Huntertown Guardian 9, hence why my first choice of the suppressor ready.

I normally dont care about triggers because point click bang. But my dealer has a couple Mexico P07. I like the hammer and trigger so much more.  But is the trigger and price $50 cheaper, enough to just buy the barrel for the Mexican and maybe change the sites later? I know you can change springs, and polish per the thread. There is also the draw for me to,have something that may be a variant and some sort of rarity.

At the end of the day, I wont be disapointed with either.

I would probably lean towards a standard SR P-07 in black or UG.

Of course I say that because I always end up Cajunizing my CZs so the stock trigger rarely sways me.

I?m not sure just how available threaded barrels are, too. That could be a factor.

I recently bought a P07 because of hearing great things about the pistols. I'm not disappointed. It's found it's way into my edc. I ordered an Olight PL-Mini that I will keep on the pistol. Enjoy your new CZ.

Also, just noticed that the Mexico P-07s do not seem to have the front cocking serrations that the newer P-07s have. For me that would be a deal breaker.

Isn't the mexico version the DUTY gen 1 version?

Here is a list of changes between the original P-07 Duty and the Gen 2 P-07:

- Nitrated slide & barrel finish
- Forward cocking serrations
- New trigger design
- New hammer design
- Carry bevel on slide and frame (rounded corners/edges)
- Interchangeable backstraps (S, M, L)
- Metal, 3-dot sights
- No lanyard loop on mainspring plug
- New finish on magazines
- Upgraded magazine spring and base retainer. (Mags now officially hold 15 rather than 16 rounds)

Also, at least some of the Gen 1/Duty guns suffered from "frame bulge" ... which was not a good thing.
