75B high polish in .40?
« on: March 30, 2018, 04:30:51 PM »
Wondering if anyone has had any luck converting a 9mm 75B to a 40?  My research shows the .40 frames to be a bit heavier.

My end goal is a 76B high polish in .40 SAO.  Maybe even milled for my RMR or have the mount installed, idk yet. Maybe rosewood grips, maybe pearl style.

.40's have larger barrel diameters in 75B's than 9's.  Also the breechface is different.

The best way to do a conversion is to get a complete slide.

That's the route I would go.  Get a dedicated .40 75B and have it hard chromed.  If you try to convert the 9mm, you might end up with an unreliable gun due to a lighter than needed slide weight.  Finding a spare slide is hit or miss.  I've been trying to find a spare P06 or 40P slide for a while now with no luck.  Finding a spare high polish .40 slide sounds like looking for a unicorn.

Yeah, a P-06 is hard to come by it seems like.
I think your right, get a .40 and have it hard chromed.
